# Blockchain

## What is blockchain data?

Blockchain data encompasses information that resides within a blockchain, and we provide two distinct categories of such data: on-chain data and off-chain data. On-chain data denotes information that is directly inscribed and preserved within the blockchain. Conversely, off-chain data signifies information that is stored and handled external to the blockchain, but its presence or linkage is documented within the blockchain.
